Vegan Cheese Sauce
Ingredients
•2 tablespoons naturli vegan block butter
•1 tablespoon plain flour
•2 cups plant based milk
•3 tablespoons spoons nutritional yeast
•2 teaspoons salt
•1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Optional extras:
•Smoked Paprika for smoky cheese sauce
•Tumeric for extra golden Sauce
•Dried herbs
Method.
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat
Add flour and whisk with melted butter to form a paste
Slowly add milk a ladleful or so at a time, whisking it in immediately. If this is happening too fast take the pot off the heat and back on with your other hand, or turn the heat down.
When you’ve added about half the milk, add the salt, yeast, garlic and anything else you may be adding from the optional extras.
Add remaining milk and whisk until desired consistency forms.
You may want to add a little more milk for a more pourable version.
